Description: Purified mouse monoclonal antibody reactive
to Ebola virus (EBOV) matrix protein (VP40). The antibody
detects EBOV VP40 in virus-like particles (VLP) and EBOV
recombinant VP40 (rVP40) by ELISA.
Supplied: 100 µg is supplied in PBS at a concentration of
0.826 mg/mL.
Clonality: Monoclonal of the IgG2a isotype
Relevance: The antibody can be used for detection of EBOV
VP40 matrix protein.
Recommended Dilutions:
ELISA: Assay-dependent dilution.
WB: Not recommended for Western Blot because the
antibody recognizes conformational epitope.
Storage: 2-3 weeks +4°C, -20°C long term. Avoid multiple
freeze thaws.
Cross Reactivity: Cross-reactivity was observed against
Sudan Virus (SUDV) VP40 in VLP and SUDV rVP40 protein.
No cross reactivity was observed with Marburg Virus
(MARV) VP40 in MARV VLPs or MARV rVP40.
ELISA Data:
VLPs and rVP40 proteins were diluted to 10 µg/mL and
3 µg/mL, respectively, in PBS for plate coating. Anti-EBOV
VP40 antibody (AE11) was serially diluted semi-log from 10
µg/mL and incubated on the coated plates. Washed plates
were detected with anti-mouse IgG-HRP conjugate and TMB
substrate. OD650 is reported above. The anti-EBOV VP40
antibody (AE11) strongly reacted to EBOV VLP (cat # 0550-
001) and rVP40 protein (cat# 0564-001). The antibody
cross-reacted with SUDV VP40 in VLP and rVP40 protein
(IBT internal lots).
