Description
Glycine N-methyltransferase, Human Recombinant is available at Gentaur for Next week delivery.
Regulate tissue concentration of AdoMet and metabolism of methionine.
Biomolecule/Target: GNMT
Alternates names: GNMT
Synonyms: GNMT
Background Information: Glycine N-methyltransferase, also known as GNMT, catalyzes the synthesis of N-methylglycine (sarcosine) from glycine using S-adenosylmethionine (AdoMet) as the methyl donor. This protein affects DNA methylation by regulating the ratio of S-adenosylmethionine to S-adenosylhomocystine and participates in the detoxification pathway in liver cells. Also it is reported that GNMT expression is diminished in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Recombinant human GNMT protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
