Description
c-Jun (1-79)-GST Fusion Protein is available at Gentaur for Next week delivery.
Plays a role in cell proliferation and apoptosis
Biomolecule/Target:
Alternates names: Transcription factor AP-1, (Activator protein 1) (AP1) (Proto-oncogene c-Jun) (V-jun avian sarcoma virus 17 oncogene homolog) (p39)
Synonyms: c-Jun
Background Information: c-Jun is a component of the transcription factor AP-1 that binds and activates transcription at TRE/AP-1 elements. The transcriptional activity of c-Jun is regulated by phosphorylation at Ser63 and Ser73. Extracellular signals including growth factors, transforming oncoproteins, and UV irradiation stimulate phosphorylation of c-Jun at Ser63/73 and activate c-Jun dependent transcription. The MAP kinase homologue, JNK, binds to the N-terminal region of c-Jun and phosphorylates c-Jun at Ser63/73. The activity of JNK is stimulated by the same signals that activates c-Jun.

Activity (Specifications/test method): |
C-Jun fusion protein at a concentration of 2 µg/20 µl reaction was phosphorylated in an in vitro kinase assay with 200 µM ATP. After 30 minutes incubation at 30°C, phosphorylation was detected by Western blot with phospho-specific c-Jun antibodies. |
