An anti-angiogenic protein

Biomolecule/Target:

Alternates names: Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 15, TNFSF-15, TNFSF15, TNF ligand-related molecule 1, VEGI, TL-1, TL1, TL1A, VEGI192A, VEGI-192, MGC129934, MGC129935, Vascular endothelial cell growth inhibitor.

Synonyms: Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 15, TNFSF-15, TNFSF15, TNF ligand-related molecule 1, VEGI, TL-1, TL1, TL1A, VEGI192A, VEGI-192, MGC129934, MGC129935.

Background Information: VEGI (Vascular Endothelial Growth Inhibitor) is a member of the tumor necrosis factor family. VEGI is predominantly an endothelial cell-specific gene, and recombinant VEGI is a potent inhibitor of endothelial cell proliferation, angiogenesis and tumor growth. VEGI exerts two activities of endothelial cells: early Gl arrest of G0/G1-cells responding to growth stimuli, and programmed cell death. VEGI is also able to regulate the expression of several important genes involved in angiogenesis. Human VEGF is a 21.8 kDa homodimeric protein consisting of 192 amino acid polypeptide chains.

Reconstitution Instructions: Reconstitute in H₂O to a concentration of 0.1–1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers
