Background Information: Streptavidin is a non-glycosylated protein originally isolated from bacterium Streptomyces avidinii. With a very high affinity for biotin, it is widely used to bridge biotinylated probes and enzymes. FITC labeled streptavidin is widely applied in flow cytometry, immunofluorescence cell staining, fluorescence in situ hybridization and other biological assays.
