Background Information: IGF-I (insulin-like Growth Factor-I) is a polypeptide growth factor that stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of cell types including muscle, bone, and cartilage tissue. Murine IGF-I is a 7.6 kDa protein containing 70 amino acid residues.
