Description

SCD1 (Human) ELISA Kitis available at Gentaur for Next week Delivery.

A Sandwich ELISA kit for quantitative measurement of SCD1 in human serum, plasma, tissue lysate, and other biological fluids.

Description:

Stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD1) is a delta-9 fatty acyl CoA desaturase that catalyzes the rate-limiting step in monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) synthesis. This endoplasmic reticulum enzyme is responsible for the formation of a double bond in the cis-delta-9 position of palmitoyl and stearoyl CoA, thus resulting in the formation of palmitoleoyl and oleoyl CoA. High SCD1 mRNA expression is found in white and brown adipose tissue during non-fasting conditions, whereas increased expression is observed in the liver and heart after consumption of a high carbohydrate diet. Deficiency of SCD1 decreases adiposity and improves insulin sensitivity. SCD1 is also involved in the initiation and proliferation of cancer cells, and subsequently promotes malignant transformation in a variety of cancers such as breast, lung, renal cancer, leukemia, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Inhibition of SCD1 results in reduced growth of cancer cells. Therefore SCD1 may be a promising target for anticancer therapy. BioVision’s SCD1 (Human) ELISA kit is based on the Sandwich ELISA principle to quantitatively measure the concentration of SCD1 in human serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. Test samples, Standards, and Biotinylated Detection antibody are added to the wells pre-coated with capture antibody and then washed with Wash Buffer. The HRP-Streptavidin is added and any unattached conjugates are washed off using Wash Buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected by the addition of TMB-substrate. Finally, the reaction is terminated with an acidic stop solution. The color developed is proportional to the concentration of SCD1 in the sample or standard.

Applications: Sandwich ELISA kits to quantitatively measure SCD1 in human serum, plasma, tissue lysates and other biological fluids
