Description: The research-grade biosimilar is a recombinant antibody to Mirvetuximab without the drug conjugation. The original antibody-drug conjugate (Mirvetuximab soravtansine) consists of an anti-FOLR1 humanized antibody conjugated to DM4, an anti-tumor chemical derivative of maytansine via a disulfide-containing cleavable sulfo-SPDB linker. Upon interaction and internalization by FOLR1 expressing tumor cells, the DM4 is detached from the antibody due to proteolytic cleavage. The DM4 then inhibits polymerization of the tubulin and assembly of the microtubules, thus resulting in cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. The original antibody-drug conjugate is used as an investigational agent to treat a variety of cancers such as ovarian, endometrial, fallopian tube, epithelial ovarian, and primary peritoneal cancer
