Description: CXCR6, also known as CD186, Bonzo, STRL33 and TYMSTR, is a chemokine that belongs to the family of seven-transmembrane domain G-protein coupled CKR proteins. In humans, subsets of memory/effector T cells, natural killer (NK) cells and NK T cells, express CXCR6. It is the receptor for the C-X-C chemokine CXCL16 and used as a coreceptor by SIVs and by strains of HIV-2 and m-tropic HIV-1. CXCR6 has been demonstrated to play a key role in inflammation and cancer.
