Description
UbcH5b, human recombinant (His-tag) is available at Gentaur for Next week delivery.
An essential ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme
Biomolecule/Target:
Alternates names: UbcH5b, Ubiquitin conjugating enzyme H5b, Ubiquitin conjugating enzyme, Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 D2, Ubiquitin carrier protein D2, Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2(17)KB 2, Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2-17 kDa 2, Ubiquitin-protein ligase D2
Synonyms: UbcH5b, Ubiquitin conjugating enzyme H5b, Ubiquitin conjugating enzyme
Background Information: UbcH5b is highly homologous to the S. cerevisiae UbC4/5 family of E2 enzymes, demonstrated to be essential for degradation of regulatory and abnormal proteins. UbcH5b, together with UbcH5a and UbcH5c, are the most active class of E2 enzymes in cell extracts and are associated with regulation of a number of transcription factors including p53. Useful for in vitro ubiquitinylation reactions. The His-tagged version of this enzyme is not susceptible to self-ubiquitinylation, which can occur with GST-tagged versions. Typical enzyme concentration to support in vitro conjugation is 100 nM to 1 µM depending upon the conditions.
