Description
Procalcitonin, human recombinant is available at Gentaur for Next week delivery.
The peptide precursor of calcitonin involved in calcium homeostasis
Biomolecule/Target: Procalcitonin
Alternates names: Procalcitonin, calcitonin, CALCA; CALC1; CGRP; CGRP-I; CGRP1; CT; KC; MGC126648
Synonyms: Procalcitonin, calcitonin, CALCA; CALC1; CGRP; CGRP-I; CGRP1; CT; KC; MGC126648
Background Information: Procalcitonin is a peptide hormone mainly produced by the C cells of the thyroid and certain endocrine cells of the lung. Under normal expression conditions, procalcitonin is immediately cleaved into three specific fragments, an N terminal residue, calcitonin and katacalcin. Levels of unprocessed Procalcitonin rise significantly after bacterial infection, trauma or shock. Recombinant Human Procalcitonin produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 116 amino acids with a molecular weight of 12,796 Daltons.
Reconstitution Instructions: Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in sterile H₂O to a concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
