Description
Leptin, murine recombinant is available at Gentaur for Next week delivery.
Adipose-derived hormone which regulates energy intake & energy expenditure
Biomolecule/Target: Leptin
Alternates names: OB Protein, Obesity Protein, OBS, Obesity factor.
Synonyms: OB Protein, Obesity Protein, OBS, Obesity factor.
Background Information: Leptin (Anti-Obesity Protein) is the protein product of the ob (obese) gene in mice and seems to be involved in appetite control. The ob gene is expressed in adipose tissue and is thought to regulate the body’s fat stores. Mice with the ob/ob genotype also develop a form of diabetes similar to type II (non-insulin dependent) diabetes. Murine Leptin is a 16 kDa protein containing 147 amino acid residues.
Reconstitution Instructions: Reconstitute in 10 mM HCl to a concentration of 1 mg/ml. The solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at 4°C for 1 week or –20°C for future use.
