Description
BHMT, Human Recombinant is available at Gentaur for Next week delivery.
Involved in the regulation of homocysteine metabolism.
Biomolecule/Target:
Alternates names: Betaine-homocysteine methyltransferase, Betaine-homocysteine S-methyltransferase 1, EC 2.1.1.5
Synonyms: Betaine-homocysteine methyltransferase, Betaine-homocysteine S-methyltransferase 1, EC 2.1.1.5
Background Information: Betaine-homocysteine methyltransferase (BHMT) is a cytosolic enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of betaine and homocysteine to dimethylglycine and methionine, respectively. BHMT displays differential expression in a model of liver cirrhosis. Recombinant human BHMT, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
