Description: BIF-1 (Bax interacting factor-1) is a 365 amino acid protein that interacts with Bax protein and influences cell survival and death. BIF-1 contains a Src homology 3 (SH3) domain in the C-terminus. Overexpression of BIF-1 promotes Bax conformational change, caspase activation, and apoptotic cell death.
